sounds really cool huh? It sounds cool to me too but I didn’t come up
with it. “The Bright Sadness” is the name of Charlie Hall’s new record
that released Tuesday, August 19th, 2008. I love Charlie Hall. He is
one of my favorite worship leaders and I have been looking forward to
this CD for quite sometime! I have pretty much been playing the songs
of “The Bright Sadness” non-stop ever since I downloaded it from iTunes
last night! It’s astonishing to me just how REAL the lyrics of these
songs are. They are worship songs to God but they don’t just talk about
how holy we are or how we’ve surrendered everything because chances are
we haven’t. It talks about how we’ve “been hit from every corner and
thrown from side to side” so all we have left to do is run to God for
light! He is the “bright in sadness.” This is where Charlie got the
name for the album, realizing that “sadness, trial and the aching of
this earth are not detached from the bright, resurrecting hope of God.”
I love the line “Your love is like a rock when I’m spinning.” So cool!
Whenever if feels like our life is out of control and nothing is going
right for us, God is our rock! He is always in control!
I could sit here all night and type out all the lyrics to all twelve
songs because they are ALL incredible and each song hits you in a
different way but that would take way too long! You should just go buy
the CD for yourself and see what I’m talking about! It’s worth the ten
bucks that it probably costs. On iTunes it’s $9.99!

the wife of God, the way God uses to touch the earth. As I grew up I
looked at the church as the group of people who were perfect and had it
together. I’m older now and have attempted and failed for long
enough to fit into this image. We are ordinary, broken, beautiful
people who have the common ground of clinging to God daily for
sustenance. We believe in new beginnings, redemption,
renovation and overcoming for ourselves, as well as those around us,
because of the bright savior and teacher, Jesus and we want to offer
this hope life to the world around us.”
